Ajemo: The Rising Star of the Ochi Dynasty and the New Prince of the Central

Kogi State, Nigeria – April 26, 2025
Ajemo, the last born of the illustrious Ochi Dynasty, is quickly establishing himself as a rising force in the music scene of Kogi State, particularly within the Ebira speaking region. His journey from local recognition to broader acclaim marks him as one of the most promising new talents to emerge from the Ebira Speaking region, in recent times.

Widely celebrated for his hit single “Zaku,” Ajemo’s music, charisma, and relatable persona have endeared him to a growing fan base across and beyond state borders. His rapid ascent is not merely the result of opportunity, but of consistent hard work, strategic positioning, and an unmistakable humility that sets him apart in a highly competitive industry. His ever present smile and accessible demeanor have further solidified his place in the hearts of many.

Comparisons have been drawn between Ajemo’s current trajectory and the rise of Yunique, another beloved indigenous artist whose acceptance was largely driven by his mastery of the Ebira language in music. Yunique, however, found himself sharing the spotlight with Itabriz, a figure many regard as the undisputed Rap King of the Central Senatorial District of Kogi State, and recently edged out Yunique to win the Best Rap Artist category at the prestigious Kogi Social Media Awards signaling a shift in the region’s hip-hop hierarchy.

Meanwhile, the influence once held by High Speed, a dominant figure in the region’s musical landscape, appears to be waning. This decline has been attributed, in part, to controversies surrounding his record label, which have opened doors for emerging talents to step into the limelight.

Among these rising stars is Soundboi BME, an artist whose dedication is drawing increasing attention. Described by many as a “time bomb” waiting to redefine the industry, Soundboi BME’s relentless pursuit of excellence positions him as one of the Confluence State’s brightest prospects.

Other notable talents making waves in the central region include Bolderg, Minite, Limpson, Adore, Bhready Songs, and Sirgentle all steadily carving niches for themselves and contributing to the evolving musical narrative of Kogi State.

The question remains, if Ajemo is the new prince of the Confluence State’s music scene. Only time will tell.
